The Best and Deepest Shooter I've Ever Played.

Think about it: What percentage of games in today's video game market including hits, misses, and sleepers are first person shooters? Almost half of them, right? A lot of these games are pretty good if not great, but after awhile it can get pretty old and annoying when the plot of 50% or more of these games is World War II. Luckily, developers like Infinity Ward have noticed and have begun to shift the genre into the 21st century/the modern era.
Story: Set sometime between the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom and the current events in the middle east, the game follows the path of two different soldiers fighting on different fronts of the war. On the one hand, you play as Soap MacTavish, a member of the Bristish S.A.S. on a manhunt through Russia, and on the other you play as U.S. Marine Paul Jackson as he and regiment stalk a radical terrorist leader in the Middle East. Sounds simple enough, but there are several plot twists that may just catch you off guard, and there are several sequences that will get your blood pumping with excitement.
Gameplay: As COD IV is a first person shooter, you'll be seeing everything from the perspective of the character you controlling (you'll only see his hand and weapon). You have the option to trot, sprint, crouch, prone, and crawl through each level as long as you take down all everyone who gets in your way and tries to shoot you. Aside from the above, you'll also have to map keys (unless you like the default configuration) for both and aiming and shooting your gun, throwing special and frag grenades, drawing your knife, turning on your flashlight, jumping, crouching, proning, activating/using secondary equipment, etc. It's quite a bit to setup and manage, but since your playing this on the PC you should know what you're getting yourself into and probably already know this.
Presentation: Unless your trying to play it on an outdated clunker, COD IV looks and should play great. Voice acting is great, sound effects are spot on, the music is riveting, and the visuals are simply amazing (even on lower settings). War may not be pretty, but this game looks great and you can't help but respect even the most violent, gritty, and/or depressing scenes in the game. [Attention: This gamer does not endorse, support, or advocate violence, homicide, and destruction.]
Closing Comments: Unless your under 17, hate any and all aspects of war, or just don't like FPS...GET THIS GAME. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
